It seems to me, based on the warmth of character revealed in the scant few, yet endearing, lines you’ve utilized to express your misgivings, that your integrity can not be impugned based upon an occasional and inadvertent outburst of merriment. 

While I can sympathize with your quite legitimate concerns, I am a firm proponent of hoisting one’s empathy-sail up into the cruel winds of fate and sailing upon the choppy waves of life toward the distant islands of understanding. Your familiarity with the methods of the sages will serve you well is this task; they have never let me down in matters of the culinary arts or on those occasions where I sought their advice regarding my dealings in Zanzibar.

If you’ll permit a brief addendum; It is my own custom, while crafting these images, should the season permit, to pour myself a mug or two of spiced apple-cider from tall flagon and send up a hearty chortle as I am moved to, heedless to the stoney, judgmental silence of my two cats.
